Teeth and Breath
According to research one of the first things people notice about your face when they see you is your smile/teeth. That said, the better the smile the better the response and smiles can really put a girl at ease or make her heart flutter as you flash those pearlies.
For a guy, there are three important mouth factors to consider. First,
the area around the mouth for instance, if you have facial hair such
as a beard or moustache then keep it neat and if you are shaving then
see the related article on shaving.
Spots and ingrown hairs around the lips and mouth can damage even the
most beautiful smile along with chapped lips so again see
the related article on skincare for advice.
The second factor to think about is the teeth themselves. Obviously a straight and naturally white set of teeth is best and there are some excellent products to help restore natural whiteness to your teeth. (Janina - whitening toothpaste) For a faster and more permanent treatment, there are lots of cosmetic dentists that can give you fast and effective results if you can afford to pay for the treatments. It is also a good idea to consider your dental hygiene. Regular check ups at the dentist can highlight any potential problems and advise on good home care. The market for home care products has increased substantially and where there used to be only dental floss (which should always be done after every meal to promote healthy teeth and eliminate bad breath caused by stuck food particles) there are now most of the types of tools used by the dentist such as plaque scrapers and DIY fillings kits!. Remember to change your toothbrush every couple of months as they become less effective at removing plaque after this time.
The thirds factor is for when those meetings get a little more up close and personal and involves your breath. Worst case scenario bad breath can be smelt from as much as 2 feet away and so even if you are only talking to work colleague, the experience can be most unpleasant for them!
Bad breath can be caused by various factors such as stuck food particles, dieting, dry mouth, poor dental hygiene, smoking, illness and food choices such as garlic and onions. So in order to treat bad breath you need to see a dentist regularly (they can advise if the condition is caused by dental reasons), drink lots of water and eat fresh fruit and veg, floss teeth, use a tongue cleaner, brush teeth regularly and use a good mouth wash every morning and evening to reduce plaque, keep gums healthy and kill mouth bacteria. Chew gum or have a packet of mints in standby for any occasion where you need super fresh breath.
