Mens fragrances, deodorants and after shaves

here is nothing worse than a smelly person be it from musty clothes, bad body odour or poor personal hygiene (Body odour article).  One of the best ways in which to smell great all over is to spritz yourself with a male fragrance before getting dressed.  This will not only keep your body smelling great all day but it will also make your clothes smell good (never spray directly onto clothes and some fabrics will stain).

The best way to get an even coverage of fragrance is to spray a couple of time into the air in front of you and then to walk through it.  Always invest in good cologne and pay £30 or over for a good brand or you will find the scent doesn’t last as long or doesn’t smell as good after a few hours.  Everyone will have their personal favourites but there are some classics to go for if you are new to this such as Calvin Klein’s range (CK One, CK Be), Hugo Boss (Green) and Lacoste.

To find what you like and how it will smell on you (the same scent can smell different on different people due to their individual natural smell) it is a good idea to go to the fragrance counter and test various scents by spraying them a few centimetres away onto different places on your arm- try to remember which is which as when you go back to buy one you may get in a spot of bother!  Once you have sprayed, leave for about half an hour for the scent to settle and then when you smell it you will get a true reflection of how other people will smell you.  Also remember that when you apply a scent your nose will become accustomed to the fragrance and you won’t be able to smell it after a while, but this doesn’t mean that others won’t notice it when they are near you.
If you do want the scent to be applied to more specific parts of the body then the pulse points are always good (wrists, neck and behind ears).

It’s also good to own a couple of good scents so that you don’t wear the same one all the time.  Try alternating from day to day ad the people that are around you the most will notice the difference.
Remember that if you also want to apply aftershave (shaving article) then it should be the same scent as the fragrance although I would personally recommend that you don’t do both as too much fragrance is over-powering and not good!
