Suitable for face, legs and pubic region
Electric Shaver/Epilator
Suitable for use on face, legs and pubic region. Electric shavers work the same as a razor whereas epilators actually pluck the hair from the root so slowing re-growth although this can be painful as it is like lots of tweezers all plucking the hairs at once! Shavers and epilators can be bought from us as well as many high street outlets.
The Remington Precision Hygienic Clipper does a great job for a very reasonable price.
Waxing/Sugaring
This method of hair removal can be used anywhere on the body from eyebrows to arms although the one area I wouldn’t recommend a man should try to wax is his beard area! Waxing is liquid hot wax applied to the area of hair to be removed and then ripped out having applied a cloth strip to the area. Can be uncomfortable but it is bearable. More commonly for men, salons have began to introduce the back, sack and crack wax which (as its name suggests) waxes hair from your back, your bum and your scrotum. Obviously some areas will be more painful than others so it is advisable having this done by a professional in a salon. There are home waxing kits and pre-prepared waxing strip that you can get from most supermarkets and chemists and the results may not be as good as a salon but they do work if you have areas you wish to do yourself such as legs or arms.
Sugaring is just like waxing although a hot sugar solution is applied instead of wax. For both these types the results are longer lasting (depending on your hair type the results can last up to 6 weeks) and the re-growth is softer and less noticeable. Some people do have a slight reaction to the wax meaning the area can go red and blotchy up to 24 hours after so don’t get it right before an occasion where the waxed area may be on show!
For men that want to get rid of chest hair, this is the most highly recommended method.
Plucking
Best used on eyebrows, purchase good tweezers with a slanted edge
for better grip and always pluck in the direction that the hair is growing.
If you can bare it you can pluck stray nasal hairs although this can
be extremely painful and it may be wiser in to invest in an electronic
nasal hair remover as it tends to be more precise. (Murker

Hair Removal Cream
Again, can be used on almost any area although you will need a specific one for removing pubic hairs. Always do a skin test first to make sure you aren’t allergic - follow the product instructions carefully and it will tell you how to do this. The results last longer than shaving but not as long as waxing and it can be a bit fiddly putting on all the cream and then waiting the allotted time before removing it. This is also a good option for chest hair removal if you don’t want to use waxing although the re-growth can be more noticeable.
Hair Inhibitor
This doesn’t remove hair but claims to slow down hair re-growth. Read
instructions carefully to see when to apply as applying straight after
hair removal in some cases can cause allergic reactions. Results will
depend on how thick or coarse your hair is to begin with. (No

Electrolysis
This can only be done by a fully trained professional and it involved using a special device which sends an electrical current into the hair and killing it off at the root. Several treatments are sometimes required to completely kill off the hair to insure it never re-grows and these treatments can be pricey. Usually smaller areas are treated such as eyebrows.
