Advanced Skin Care for men

Once you have your basic skincare routine is it good to add in extra products that can take you that extra step further. These types of products have specific properties that can delay signs of ageing or enhance your current skin’s condition. (For body skin care please see our article on body skin)

Male concealers
These can be used to cover up under eye shadows, blemishes, spots, nicks and broken capillaries. Blend the light creamy stick or powder onto your skin so that it will be undetectable to anyone else. They are very easy to apply and come in 4 different shades to match your skin: Light, Medium, Bronze or Dark
Eye Care
Delicate skin around the eye area can be finer and more vulnerable than the rest of your face and so it needs a separate product to the rest of the skin on your face. These products are formulated to reduce puffiness, shadows and bags and can revitalize and brighten the area while smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles.
Eye gels cool, soothe, decongest and firm while creams protect, soften, smooth and moisturize
Sun Care
To protect your skin from the sun select a cream or lotion with the right SPF (sun protection factor) which will give optimum protection and help avoid burning and skin damage which can cause premature aging. Choose a cream or gel that moisturizes as it protects for a golden glow that lasts while enhancing skin texture and appearance

Self Tan
Try a self-tanning lotion, spray or mousses to give you an all over beach-bronzed look. Easy to apply without streaks you can now have a perfect tan without the damaging effects of sunbathing.
Make sure you select the right colour form your skin- obviously if you are pale then you don’t want to select a shade that will make you look too dark and always read the instructions carefully to avoid staining, streaking and tell tale signs that will give your game away!
We recommend the Phytomer Creamy Self Tanning Gel 150ml. It's a little bit more expensive than the other products we recommend, but it's a great product with good, solid results and has been well received in the celebrity circuit.
Redness/Rosacea

Excessive skin redness is often accompanied by sensitivity, flushing, heat and overall tightness. Skin that suffers from Rosacea-like redness can worsen from outside factors like weather or central heating. These factors can determine when redness occurs and/or how severe the symptoms are.
