A little bit about Paul
Hey. I'm not really well known for being much of a communicator on the web. Most people know me from parties, meetings or word of mouth from others. I guess that's why I'm setting this up. I want to give you guys the knowledge I've found along my travels. I guess this is like a bit of an autobiography. I'm not really one to talk about myself, but it really does help to explain who I am, and why I think I can help some of you guys out there.
First off, I'm not attractive. I was bullied at school, I didn't kiss my first girl until I was 17, and as for when I lost my virginity, well let's just say I'm not prepared to talk about that here!
But anyway, all this is just proving to you, that no matter how bad you think you have things, I've pretty mch been there. I was fat, and I mean properly fat. The sort of fat that made you think that the world should feel sorry for me. I was also spectacularly unattractive. It was actually a massive suprise to me that I even kissed a girl at 17, I will happily admit that I thought I never would.
So basically, I was fat, I also suffered from eating problems and disorders, confidence issues, bad hair, a stutter, a lisp, very poor at sports oh, and I'm short... but that much hasn't changed.
But, despite all of this, I've managed to accomplish all sorts of things in my life. Things I thought would be impossible for the good looking guys and confident guys I knew; not even dreamable for a guy who used to ask his own Mum if he could go to the toilet.. at home!
So, what's the secret?
That's exactly what this site is about of course. The initial idea was about how I could help people do what I did, go from an ugly bug to someone who can hold their own without surgery or a vast budget. So I made moderngrooming.com. But who am I to tell you all what to do? Well I didn't want too much of a one sided opinion, so I asked Laura Noel, a good friend of mine. Laura is one of the most amazing most people you will ever meet. A hot girl with a brain, but more importantly, a personality that most guys would dream of. I'm not being rude to the average girl, but to be honest, they are raised differently to guys. Guys are told to look after themselves, girls are raised on the idea that one day a handsome guy will sweep them off their feet and look after them. I'm not saying it's true, but look at the nursery rhymes, kids stories etc and you'll see what I mean. But not our Laura....
Laura is a former model / psychologist / beauty therapist. A strange combination I'm sure you'll agree. Luckily this means she's good looking, she knows what she wants to look like, and she knows what she wants guys to look like. We're very lucky to have her on board. Why not send her an email at Ask Laura.
Get on with the story
Sorry. Anyway, I can't talk about what I've done in my life, and who I've met too much, but let's just say I've drank with big celebs and been to massive launch parties throughout the world. I won't name drop here, but I've been lucky... and I've found out what to do to fit into these groups.
I'm hoping to get some celebrity contacts from the US and the UK to contribute content to us and make recommendations in the future... but you may have to wait until my next trip to LA where I can get them drunk and drop the suggestion. Let's just say, a lot of my business has taken place at 1am on Sunday morning when they're too hammered to say no ;o)
The future
So, we're new, we're young. We have big plans, radio slots, celebrity slots, a social network, blogs, forums.... and eventually, we want to set up a girls version of the site, and get guys to answers girls problems, and for yours to be answered by real girls. How cool is that? As far as I am aware, it'll be the first major social network of it's type.
So stay tuned, we're constantly looking to develop. If you want to get involved, please feel free to contact us. We read every mail... eventually.
Thanks a lot
Paul
